A temporary restraining order that shut down three of Menominee’s five marijuana dispensaries for ten days will no longer have to worry about being shut down soon. As you may recall, they held an emergency court hearing Monday to discuss the legality of the court order which forced dispensaries Higher Love, Lume, and Nirvana to close, putting nearly 70 people out of work. Yesterday, Judge Mary B. Barglind in the 41st Circuit Court ordered that the Temporary Restraining Order be terminated. Judge Barglind also went over ADR—Facilitated Mediation brought up by the City of Menominee’s Attorney Matt Cross. With all attorneys in agreement to go into facilitated mediation, they must agree on a facilitator, and to do that no later than the end of January. A week-long trial is scheduled for some time in May 2024.
