In the ongoing lawsuit brought forth by City of Marinette Alderperson Doug Oitzinger against the City of Marinette Common Council. There has been one request by Oitzinger and his lawyers, the unfished Ruekert – Mielke Town of Peshtigo Water Supply Alternative Analysis from July 9th, 2020. Marinette City Council President Dorothy Kowalski says, “none of us on City Council including the mayor have seen this draft until now.”

Kowalski says, “due to the lawsuit the city is up over $76,000. Granted the insurance is paying for that, however, there’s a limit and once we hit the top of what the insurance will pay. Beyond that, the city will have to pay for it.”

The City of Marinette Common Council and Mayor Genisot have been in litigation with Alderperson Doug Oitzinger for over a year. There have been multiple offers to resolve the litigation between the parties with either coming to an agreement. This last piece of information that Oitzinger wanted provides nothing, except that the City of Marinette in October 2020 decided not to move forward with a water study when there was no need to do one. Depositions for the lawsuit are to set to be heard later this month.
