Washington D.C.’s iconic Vietnam War memorial will make its way to Crivitz on a slightly smaller scale. The Wall that Heals is a travelling ¾ size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial displaying the name of the names of the over 58-thousand people who were killed in the war or remain missing. Crivitz Village President John Deschane says the discontent that enveloped the nation during the Vietnam War means many service members never got the Welcome Home they deserved, and this exhibit is a chance to make that right.
The M&M Area Community Foundation played a critical role in bringing The Wall That Heals to Crivitz. Through their new Impact Fund, the Foundation awarded the village a $4000 grant to help pay for the event.
The Wall That Heals will be in Crivitz August 30th through September 2nd and will be available for viewing 24-hours a day. More than 600 volunteers are needed to assist during this four-day event. For more information or to take part, call 715-854-3311.
