This girl can is an event that allows young women to explore and see themselves in manufacturing and industry. For this event, it showcases welding. NWTC Dean Dr. Jennifer Flatt says, “it’s a two-day free event that offers 7th – 9th grade girls the opportunity to learn about a local industry in Samuel Pressure Vessel Group and to gain firsthand experience in the world of welding.”

Dawn Topper, Quality Assurance Manager with Samuel Pressure Vessel Group, says, “ students and their guardians will meet some exceptional women that work at Samuel, and those women will take them on a tour of the facility.”

The girls will get to see several facets of Samuel Pressure Vessel Group from machining, welding, and finishing operations. Most of all, they will get to see what the women do. The first of these classes will begin this Thursday, February 3rd and the second round will take place on February 10th. If your child is interested in participating in this unique event, don’t delay. There are limited spots available. Call NWTC at 715-735-9361 or email marinette@nwtc.edu
