10/14/2019- The treasurer of the Crivitz sports booster club was arrested for allegedly stealing as much as $20000 from the fundraising organization. Alicia Maki took over as treasurer of the Wolverine Sports Boosters in June and is suspected of taking money from the club’s summer bean bag tournament and concession sales, and of writing checks from the booster club’s account for personal purchases. Maki was confronted by other members of the organization, as well as law enforcement, about these accusations and has returned about $7000 of what was allegedly taken, while her mother paid the Boosters an additional $5000. That still leaves the club about $7500 short. Maki was taken into custody for fraud and theft on September 27th and released from jail September 29th. Criminal charges in the matter have not been filed.
