Tom Karban, a retired teacher from the Marinette School District, has announced that he will challenge incumbent Dorothy Kowalski for the alderperson at-large seat in the April 5th municipal election. Karban says, “I’m running to give back to the community for which I have lived for over 35 years.”

Karban says, “I’m not sure that I have one major issue, but having more citizen input and access to city meetings would be a great start.”

Karban states the issues that are important to residents are the need to do a better job of taking care of city streets and parks, along with the need for more affordable housing. Karban says, “we need more options than just apartment buildings.”
