10/18/2018- It’s an issue many shy away from, but this Domestic Violence Awareness Month, one local organization is speaking out in hopes of connecting with more victims. Tri-County Safe Harbor offers free advocacy and support services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Melissa Carter is a Crime Victim Advocate and says all the services they provide are free of cost and available to residents in Menominee, Delta, and Schoolcraft Counties and the surrounding area.
Volunteers play a big role in Safe Harbor’s operations and Carter says they’re always looking for more people willing to lend a hand.
Tri-County Safe Harbor has two locations in Menominee County on 11th Avenue in Menominee and on Highway 41 in Carney. For more information about their services or volunteering, visit their website: safe3c.com.
