02/11/2020- Not guilty pleas have been entered for the Bark River man accused of murdering his adoptive father in November. 35-year-old Gary Phillips-Donovan submitted a written waiver of arraignment which also included a request that the court enter his not guilty plea at his arraignment and pre-trial hearings held Friday. He’s being charged with one count of homicide- open murder and two counts of 1st degree home invasion for allegedly entering Michael Donovan’s Harris Township home and killing the 74-year-old man. A jury trial in the matter has now been scheduled to begin May 11th, with a pre-trial conference set for March 17th. If convicted, Phillips-Donovan will be facing life in prison.
