08/27/2019- Rain didn’t stop a dedication ceremony for recent improvements at Triangle Park on US 41 in Menominee. The work included restoration of the Higley Fountain, a concrete walkway, landscaping and three flag poles next to the fountain, along with a sign along the highway directing travelers to Menominee’s Historic Downtown, and a pergola donated by the Menominee Women’s Club. The Jim Stang family donated the flagpoles and their installation costs and were honored at the ceremony. Other local businesses and the city also contributed to the project. Economic Development Director Nancy Douglas said two grants from the CUPPAD regional development group also played a role in funding the park improvements.
Douglas also singled out Menominee Alderman Dennis Klitzke for his vision on how the park could be a welcoming to the city of Menominee and his work to make the project happen.
