Much needed infrastructure updates will be happening in the City of Menominee after unanimous votes to bond ordinances were passed after a special council meeting Monday evening. The council approved the sewage disposal system improvements along with the water supply system improvements. “This was a necessary order of business to use the remaining millage funds and correct the deficiencies in the streets,” says Mayor Jean Stegeman.
“When we raise rates, it’s not done arbitrarily because we love to hear community outcry, we do it because it’s a necessity,” says Stegeman.
The total amount of the projects came in at $5.9 million with the projects to begin in the near future.
