What began as an idea by Peshtigo Food Pantry volunteer Kristen Edgar to raise awareness and funds for the Peshtigo Food Pantry has turned into a collaborative engagement of Peshtigo School children, the Peshtigo School, community, and local businesses. By putting together a Young Chef’s cookbook of Peshtigo School children’s recipes with artwork created by Peshtigo School children, they are hoping to put a fork in hunger. Edgar says, “our goal is to print color cook books.”
Katie Berman of the Peshtigo Food Pantry says, “sponsoring a recipe will help offset some of those printing costs.”
There are two ways that you can help support the Young Chef’s Peshtigo Cook Book Project. The first is that this is a partnership project with the Peshtigo Chamber of Commerce and a sponsorship form can be found on the ‘our news and blog’ tab of their website at peshtigochamber.com or you can go to their Facebook page at Peshtigo Food Pantry and send them a message for more information.
