In 2019, the Provident Health Foundation was formed, funded by a 25 million dollar endowment from  Advocate/Aurora Health System when they took over the local hospital.   The money is to be used to improve the health of the community and that local health care remains strong. In the past two years, the foundation worked on their organization structure, assessed the needs of the community, and let the interest earned on the endowment to grow.  They made a few smaller COVID-related grants last summer, but now the foundation is ready to start their first grant cycle, and are looking for local organizations to apply for grants.  Foundation executive director John Hofer says there are three needs they want to concentrate on…
