08/08/2019- There’s an effort to make sure all veterans buried in Marinette County get the recognition they deserve. Veterans Service Officer Tom Doyle approached the Health and Human Services Committee Wednesday about establishing a non-lapsing veterans flag fund which would allow him to accept donations from local businesses, organizations, and residents to be used for purchasing flags and accessories for cemeteries and the veterans’ graves in them. Doyle says in addition, he’s also been working with a local manufacturer to sponsor the reconstruction of a flagpole at Harmony Cemetery.
The Health and Human Services Committee unanimously approved Doyle’s request. The item was sent along to the county’s Administrative Committee for consideration there.
