10/04/2018- The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center is in need of more volunteer drivers to transport veterans to and from their appointments at the Iron Mountain facility. The Medical Center is currently experiencing a critical shortage of volunteer drivers and officials say volunteers do not need to be veterans and can choose how often they would like to drive. Anyone wishing to volunteer as a driver may call 906-774-3300 for more information. Last year, drivers transported over 2,000 veterans from throughout the Upper Peninsula and northeast Wisconsin to their VA appointments in Iron Mountain at no charge to the veterans.
