08/26/2020- More than a million dollars in funding assistance is being allocated to the Village of Wausaukee for a project to bring new life to a vacant building along their main thoroughfare. The Village has been eyeing the purchase of the former Stephenson National Bank building to transform it into a community center which will also house municipal offices and their library. They were recently successful in securing a competitive Community Development Block Grant worth $885000. That’s in addition to Marinette County’s commitment of more than $453000 in county CDBG close funds. That totals about $1.34 million toward the acquisition and renovation of that building.
