09/18/2018- With the recent spike in temps, the last thing on many people’s minds is the upcoming winter heating season, however, representatives from Wisconsin Public Service say now is the perfect time to start thinking about efficiency upgrades to keep energy bills under control this winter. Matt Cullen is a spokesperson with WPS. His number one tip to keep heating costs low is to ensure your home heating system is running efficiently before the cold weather hits.
Heating costs can present a serious financial burden for some families and Cullen reminds residents that there are programs available to make payments more manageable.
Other efficiency options include installing a smart thermostat which lowers the temperature when you’re out of the house, using ceiling fans to circulate warm air, and drawing back window coverings during the day to allow the sun to warm your home naturally.
