08/24/2020- There’s been another COVID-19 death in Marinette County. The sixth death related to the virus was reported over the weekend, as the county’s total number of confirmed cases climbed to 563. Marinette County also had the seventh highest rate of positive tests per 100000 people in the state. Neighboring Oconto County has 358 people who’ve tested positive and reported their first COVID death earlier this month. Across the Michigan border, Menominee County was sitting at 194 cases as of Sunday afternoon. No deaths have been recorded in Menominee County, but they continue to have the second highest case count in the UP behind Marquette County’s 198.
