37-year-old, Christopher Martinez-Aldea, of Menominee, was sentenced on January 5th by the Honorable Christopher S. Ninomiya, in the 41st Circuit Court for Controlled Substance-Possession of Cocaine, 50 to 449 grams. According to publicly filed documents and information presented in open court, the case began on May 18th, 2021, when Detectives from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET), ascertained that a a package sent from Puerto Rico to Martinez-Aldea in Menominee, contained 510 grams of cocaine. On May 26th, 2021, a “controlled delivery” of the package was made to Martinez-Aldea’s home by postal authorities and UPSET detectives. A search warrant was executed and digital scales, two rifles, and a 9mm handgun were located in proximity to the cocaine and seized. Authorities estimated the street value of the cocaine seized was more than $50,00. Martinez-Aldea was sentenced to four years to 2o years in prison for Controlled Substance – Possession of Cocaine.
